Roadway repairs to a bridge in Forsyth County are underway and will continue through the summer, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

Work was to begin Wednesday night, April 24, on the Majors Road Bridge over Ga. 400 in south Forsyth, GDOT said. Lane closures are scheduled for 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The project was awarded last November to Ram Construction Services of Michigan Inc., and is scheduled to be completed Aug. 31.

Farther north, crews will be repairing four bridges in Lumpkin County: Ga. 60/U.S. 19 over Yahoola Creek; the north and south spans of Ga. 400/U.S. 19 over the Chestatee River; and Ga. 9/U.S. 19 over Yahoola Creek.

The bridges will be rehabilitated with new driving surfaces and new joints, GDOT said.
