The project to widen state route Ga. 20 to three lanes in each direction from U.S. 23/Ga. 13/Buford Highway to Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Sugar Hill is nearing completion of the concept stage. The Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a public comment period and open house 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Sugar Hill United Methodist Church (now known as Church on The Hill), 4600 Nelson Brogdon Boulevard.

The project will widen about 1.3 miles of the busy thoroughfare. The public is invited and encouraged to participate in the open house and provide comment on the design of the project elements.
