The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the acceptance of a $47,000 Family Connection operating grant for Connecting Henry from the Georgia Department of Human Services. The vote came at the Jan. 17 regular meeting.

Connecting Henry, a nonprofit organization, is “a planning and coordinating agency for services and programs directed at improving child health, child development, family function, school performance and family economic capacity” as described in a county staff report.

Each year Connecting Henry receives funds through a reimbursement grant from the Georgia Department of Human Services. The grant requires no local match.
