The Roswell City Council has approved an agreement with Fulton County to relocate a water line as part of an extension of Sun Valley Drive and be reimbursed $500,181 by the county for the work.

The Council on Tuesday approved a memorandum of understanding in which the county will be responsible for designing the project and submitting a cost estimate to the city. The city will manage and complete the project, including the engineering, construction and contract supervision.

The work involves a fire hydrant, valves, valve box, manhole and water meters, according to the memorandum. When the project is finished and the city’s engineers have signed off on it, the county is to accept the water line and reimburse the city for material and labor costs.

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved the agreement Oct. 5. Sun Valley is to be extended from Alpharetta Highway to Warsaw Road.
