Rural/Metro Ambulance runs nine ambulances in south Fulton and six south Fulton cities, and through a $300,000-per-year contract approved by the county commission, the unincorporated area will have first rights to three of them, having them stationed in county fire stations and dispatched by Fulton 911, according to Deputy Fire Chief Jack Butler. During peak call hours, the unincorporated area gets an extra two ambulances, bringing the total in all of south Fulton to 11.

The funds will come from the South Fulton Special Services District, Butler said.
