Fulton County has agreed to work with four North Georgia colleges and universities to offer public health internships to students.

The Fulton Board of Commissioners recently approved affiliation agreements between the county Department of Health and Wellness and the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; the Morehouse School of Medicine; the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia; and the College of Health Professions/Department of Public Health and Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University.

Each school agrees to screen students for eligibility and assign them to rotations in a public health setting, while the county provides oversight and ensures that students have practical learning experiences aligned to specified areas of study, according to County Board agenda summaries.

The agreements run through Aug. 2, 2019 except for that with Morehouse, which runs through March 31, 2019.
