Police have arrested a fourth suspect in the the alleged gang rape and robbery of two women at a Conyers motel last month.
The Conyers Police Department arrested Joseph Joyce on June 24, police spokeswoman Kim Lucas confirmed Wednesday.
Joyce is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of armed robbery and rape.
Joyce and three other men allegedly went to a motel to meet with two women they had chatted with on backpage.com. Investigators believe the men went into the women's room, robbed them and raped them, police previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
It is believed that Joyce then forced one of the women into her car and attempted to drive away. She escaped and ran to the motel’s front office to call 911, police said.
Joyce and the three other suspects appeared before the magistrate court Wednesday afternoon. Joyce was denied bond.
