Forsyth County invites residents to a public information open house in October to view final construction plans for a 3.6-mile extension of Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

The event is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at South Forsyth High School, 585 Peachtree Parkway.

“An informal open house of this nature is meant to inform residents and allow for more opportunities to answer individual questions concerning construction,” said Forsyth Director of Engineering John Cunard.

The extension, from Majors Road to McFarland Parkway, will have two lanes in each direction, a 20-foot-wide raised median, shoulders, curbs and gutters, a five-foot-wide sidewalk and a 10-foot-wide multi-use path. The project will be funded by $44 million in transportation bonds approved by Forsyth voters in 2014.

Written comments will be accepted through Oct. 30. Project displays and a meeting transcript from the open house will be available for viewing until Nov. 15 at Forsyth's Engineering Department, 110 E. Main St., Suite 120, Cumming. Information: https://bit.ly/2mY16BD
