The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings at its March 5 meeting on pending ordinance amendments.

One would make changes in the county alcohol ordinance, with one provision allowing businesses with valid alcohol licenses to be granted up to 30 special event permits a year. The permits allow them to operate cash bars at luncheons, receptions and other functions other than at their regular place of business. The current limit is 12.

The other hearing involves several changes to the Unified Development Code, including allowing the creation of single family community residential districts. The designation would allow larger-scale subdivisions built with higher-than-minimum sizes to vary lot sizes.

Both hearings are set for 5 p.m. March 5 at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St., Cumming.
