A public information open house is set for November in Forsyth County on the upcoming widening of Browns Bridge Road (Ga. 369) and the creation of a grade-separated interchange to replace stoplights at Browns Bridge and Ga. 400, county officials announced.

The open house is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 19, at Coal Mountain Elementary School, 3455 Coal Mountain Drive. Final construction plans will be on display, and engineering staff will be available to answer questions. Information: https://bit.ly/31VAgsq

Browns Bridge is to be widened from two to four lanes for about 2.4 miles, from just west of Ga. 9 to just east of Ga. 306, officials said. The rebuilt road will have four travel lanes, each 12 feet wide; a 20-foot-wide raised median; and sidewalks eight feet wide on the south side of the road, and five feet wide on the north.

An existing, signalized intersection of Browns Bridge and Ga. 400 will be replaced with a grade-separated, partial cloverleaf interchange, officials said.

Project funding will come from the Forsyth County Transportation Bond approved by voters in 2014, as well as other county funds and the Georgia Department of Transportation, officials said.
