It’s the changing of the guard for the Forsyth County Commission.
District 4 commissioner Cindy Jones Mills was sworn in for a second four-year term last week as two new members joined the governing body. Laura Semanson took the oath as District 5 commissioner, replacing Jim Boff, and Rick Swope was sworn in to represent District 2, taking over the seat that’s been held by Brian Tam. All three begin their terms Jan 1.
Tam did not seek a fourth term on the commission and Boff didn’t bid for a third.
Both Semanson and Swope campaigned on traffic and growth issues, as well as seeking to rein in higher property taxes.
