In a special called meeting Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Forest Park City Council voted unanimously to appoint Planning, Zoning and Building Director Al Wiggins as interim city manager. The city has been without a city manager since the council voted not to renew the contract of former City Manager Frank Brandon, which expired on Aug. 6. The council then voted to appoint management analyst Angela Redding to the interim position but the action was vetoed by Forest Park Mayor David Lockhart. Without a city manager, no council meeting agendas were set and much of the city’s business was on hold for nearly two months.
