Hall County sheriff’s investigators seized about 60 pounds of marijuana with a street value of about $72,000 this week.

Two men were arrested in the Monday bust in the 1600 block of Atlanta Highway in Gainesville.

Digital scales were also seized, sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks told Channel 2 Action News.

Semajal Jackson, 34, of Atlanta and Michael Thomas, 24, of Decatur were arrested without incident, Wilbanks said.

Both were charged with trafficking marijuana and were being held in the Hall County Detention Center on Wednesday. Jackson also was being held on an outstanding DeKalb County bench warrant.

Hall County and Gainesville authorities also arrested three men on methamphetamine possession charges this week. Investigators said they found $2,800 worth of meth on Terry Darracott, 37, and Troy Thompson, 38, when they were arrested Tuesday in the 2900 block of Browns Bridge Road.

Police said they later arrested Gary Tootle, 53, at a residence on Florence Drive and charged him with possession of alprazolam tablets without a valid prescription. Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety disorders and panic disorder.
