Late Tuesday afternoon Decatur school superintendent David Dude reinstated Susan Riley to her position as Decatur High media clerk.

The school system is expected to make an announcement either via a press release or on Facebook later this afternoon. David Hughes, Riley’s attorney, said his client was told a short while ago that she can go back to work Monday.

It’s what Riley had wanted all along.

“I want to go back to DHS,” she said during an exclusive interview with the AJC last week. “I miss my kids, I think about them a lot.”

After firing Riley on Feb. 26, Dude changed her status to suspended with pay on Feb. 28, then hired Atlanta attorney Jonathan Poole on March 7 to conduct an “impartial investigation.”
