Fire damaged a bar early Friday in the heart of the Buckhead entertainment district.
Firefighters responded to a call at 6:45 a.m. at Tavern 99, 128 East Andrews Drive, Alanta Fire Department spokesman Capt. Jolyon Bundrige told the AJC. The bar sustained fire damage to the right front side of the building and smoke damage inside, Bundrige said. He said no one was in the bar when the fire broke out and there were no injuries to firefighters.
Bundrige said damage was confined to the 200-foot-long, one-story building, which is a standalone structure surrounded by retail shops and other commercial buildings. East Andrews Drive remained open, he said.
Bundrige said fire investigators and Atlanta Gas Light personnel were on the scene at 8:15 a.m.
