Payments for heating costs will be available to certain low-income households in Cobb.

Tallatoona Community Action Partnership staff is accepting appointments for the Low-Income Heating Assistance Program from residents not only from Cobb but also Bartow, Douglas, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson, Paulding and Polk.

Homebound households may request a homebound appointment through the website at tallatoonacap.org by clicking “Homebound Request” or by calling the appointment line.

Since Tallatoona staff cannot obtain the following information at the appointment, applicants need to be prepared with this information or their appointments will be rescheduled.

  • Driver's License or state issued photo ID
  • Original social security cards for everyone living in the home
  • Proof of citizenship or immigration status. Driver's license, U.S. military ID, U.S. passport or card, state-issued photo ID, U.S. permanent resident card, alien registration card, employment authorization document or certificate of citizenship are all acceptable documents as proof of citizenship.
  • Most current heating bill (bill must be dated within 30 days)
  • New requirement: For homes heated with natural gas, kerosene, propane or wood, applicants must bring both their heating bill and electric bill
  • Proof of income for the last 30 days for everyone 18 years or older living in the home. Income includes, but is not limited to, alimony, child support, disability, pension, rental income, retirement, social security, unemployment, wages from work, wages from self- employment and worker's compensation.
  • If there is someone 18 or older living in the home who has zero income, they must come to the appointment.
