William McKinney is the sole finalist to become the next president of Valdosta State University, officials with the University System of Georgia said Friday.
He is currently the vice chancellor for academic affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne.
The State Board of Regents could vote to hire McKinney during the April meeting.
The previous president, Patrick Schloss, stepped down in June. Louis Levy has been serving as the interim president.
