Fulton County police investigated a double shooting early Saturday, one fatal, in the parking lot of a hotel near Fulton Industrial Boulevard.
Police spokeswoman Det. Melissa Parker said there were at least two men arguing over a woman at the Travel Inn on Shirley Drive. One man pulled out a gun and fatally shot one man in the chest, the detective said. A second man was shot in the leg.
The dead man was identified as Desmond Phinazee, 38, from Smyrna.
The shootings occurred around 1 a.m., Parker said. Within a few hours a suspect was arrested. According to Channel 2 Action News, the suspect was found injured.
Police did not immediately disclose the identity of the second shooting victim or suspect, or why they were at the Travel Inn. The identity of the woman and why she was at the hotel also was not disclosed.
