Qualifying in Hampton ended with five elected offices up for grabs in November.

Mayor Steve Hutchison will seek another term and he is opposed by Wayne Selman.

Three of the six council seats are ending their regular four-year terms this year, with incumbents Marty Meeks and Charlie Hearn facing challengers Errol Mitchell, Willie Turner, Stephanie Bodie, Shawn Black, Alford Williams and Edward T. Spencer. Since those posts are at-large, the top three vote-getters will be declared the winners.

Mary Ann Mitcham is also finishing her term but chose to run in the special election to fill the remaining two years of Chris Moore’s term since Moore resigned in early August. Election day is Nov. 7.
