FedEx has released an updated statement on the Tuesday morning shooting at a company facility northwest of Atlanta.

“We can confirm that an incident occurred early Tuesday morning at a FedEx Ground facility in Kennesaw, Georgia,” company spokesman Scott Fiedler said in a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected, and with their families and friends. We are grateful for the assistance of law enforcement. The situation is now stabilized and we are focused on the needs of our team members and cooperating with the law enforcement investigation of this tragedy.”

Hundreds of authorities from multiple agencies remain on the scene of an early morning workplace shooting at the Airport Road FedEx facility in Kennesaw.

At least six people have been taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, one of them in critical condition. The suspect is dead, Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The AJC has reporters and photographers at the FedEx facility as well as the hospital, and will provide minute-by-minute updates throughout the day.
