Following a survey of 69 teachers, Fayette County public high schools will be returning to a more linear approach to teaching math. Mark Henderson, coordinator of mathmatics, reported that of the 58 teachers who expressed a preference between the current integrated curriculum and a more traditional, single-subject structure, 90 percent chose the discrete method for Algebra I and Geometry classes.

Replies were evenly spread among the school districts. The Board of Education voted 5-0 Monday to support the switch, starting with the coming school year.
