Fayette County Public Schools is working on a schedule for letting students and staff retrieve their personal belongings from school buildings, since in-person classes will not resume until the new school year.

The plans will be communicated directly by each school to parents and employees in the coming weeks, and will be carried out based on safety procedures guided by the Georgia Department of Health. Students will also be able to return school materials such as textbooks.

The school system is also refunding tickets from the canceled proms. Underclassman Honors Nights at the high schools have been postponed until fall; details about the new dates will be sent out by each school after August.
