Fayette County approves Starr’s Mill district

After revising a proposal first considered in June, the Fayette County Board of Commissioners voted 4-1 Thursday to approve parameters for the Starr’s Mill Historic Overlay District, which will guide development at the intersection of Ga. Hwys. 74 and 85 and Padgett Road at the southern edge of Peachtree City.

The land use plan designates the area, zoned L-C-1 (limited commercial), for small-scale retail shops but not a convenience store and/or gas station. Structures must follow specifications that “maintain a residential character,” including neutral-colored palettes.
