Fayette County now has greater authority to revoke the licenses of restaurants, tourist accommodations and other entities that don’t pay their Board of Health fees on time. The Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 on Nov. 13 to designate nonpayment of fees for services, inspections or permits as a formal violation, which will allow the director of Environmental Services to revoke permits after giving violators a 14-day written warning. Such violations are also subject to prosecution. The measure takes effect immediately.
