Beginning Jan. 14, Georgia Department of Transportation maintenance crews will begin grading work on the shoulders of Interstate 85 northbound beginning at State Route 98 in Commerce.
This project will create daily single lane closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays between State Route 98 and Martin Bridge Road/State Route 63. The mainteance is expected to continue until Jan. 31, depending on weather conditions.
This project will lower the grade of the shoulders along I-85, which will allow water to drain away from the travel lanes more efficiently and improve safety for drivers.
