ESPN’s Sam Khan Jr. noted that South Carolina graduated three seniors from its defensive backs corps and there will be a chance for freshmen to compete for big roles. On Horn, he wrote: “(Horn) figures to be in the mix to get on the field early. He's got NFL bloodlines too; his father is former New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Horn.”
Joe Horn played in 163 NFL games and caught 603 passes for 8,744 yards and 58 touchdowns. He retired after spending the 2007 season with the Atlanta Falcons. Now his son is one of the top defensive back recruits in the nation.

Horn — who checks in at 6-foot and 190 pounds — was ranked as the 18th best defensive back for 2018 recruits in the nation, and the 22nd best overall player in the state of Georgia.
With Horn's help, Alpharetta went 11-2 this past season. As a senior, he tallied 44 tackles, five interceptions, 12 passes deflected and more than 200 all-purpose yards as a receiver and returner, according to MaxPreps.
Will Muschamp’s Gamecocks — who went 9-4 and won a bowl game this past season — open 2018 at home on Sept. 1 against Coastal Carolina.
