Early voting for council seat in Snellville ends Nov. 27

Snellville residents can participate in early voting for the Dec. 3 city council seat run-off election until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27. Early voting is taking place each weekday before Thanksgiving from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at City Hall, 2342 Oak Road.

None of the four candidates originally running for the Post 2 council seat were able to gain more than 50 percent of the vote needed to win. The two candidates with the most votes, Solange Destang (567 votes) and Brittany Marmol (496 votes), will battle Dec. 3 to determine the winner. Marmol’s husband Roger decided not to run for re-election for the post.

On Nov. 5, incumbent Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem Dave Emanuel defeated challenger Cortez Riden 989 to 211. Mayor Barbara Bender did not have a challenger in her race resulting 1,093 votes.
