The city of Dunwoody signed a purchase agreement for the lot and building located at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road. The agreement covers the purchase of the 3.25 acre lot and building for approximately $8.25 million.
After due diligence and inspection, the city expects to close on the purchase within 120 days. The decision to select the property was based on a list of considerations and needs for a new city hall, primarily accessibility, convenience, overall cost and capability for future growth.
With an estimated 45,000 square feet, the newly purchased building offers more space than the facility at 41 Perimeter Center East currently being leased and has an annual cost comparable to existing terms. The city intends to conduct minor modifications to the future building to house city staff, police department, municipal court and city council chambers.
The city anticipates a move-in date of March 2018.
