The Duluth Planning and Development Department has purchased three new vehicles. One used vehicle was sent to auction. After commission and fees, the city received $6,025 in auction proceeds for the vehicle.

To outfit the new vehicles for use by department staff, computers and in-car mounts must be purchased. The Duluth City Council recently approved $5,000 of the auction proceeds to purchase the computers.

The Planning and Development Department is responsible for conducting development reviews and inspections, controlling applications for land use changes and modifications, enforcing city laws and ordinances, issuing permits, as well as other duties. The Planning and Development Department also oversees Duluth’s Comprehensive Plan and coordinates long-range planning efforts with other government agencies at the county, state, and federal levels.
