Duluth scoreboard cost double original estimate

The Duluth City Council approved the purchase of two LED scoreboards for Bunten Road Park in November based on a replacement cost estimate of $4,000.

At the Council’s December meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Kathy Marelle reported an error in the estimate that brings the cost for the two scoreboards to $8,862. The city had previously approved the purchase using General Funds. Based on the new estimate, and a review of available funds, the city council authorized SPLOST funds for the purchase of the scoreboards.
