Duluth restaurant fails second straight health inspection

April 28, 2016

Less than a week after failing a health inspection, a Duluth restaurant has failed its follow-up too.

In fact, it fared worse.

On April 21, Korean cafe Ham Ji Bak,  located at 3751 Satellite Blvd., received a 63/U from the Georgia Department of Health. According to the report, inspectors noted "pooled raw eggs and raw fish" stored above ready-to-eat food and dishes being washed in tepid water, among several other violations.

The restaurant had its follow-up inspection Thursday and got a 59/U. Its permit was suspended.

In the new inspection, officials noted several food items that were improperly cooling or not dated, "cloths hanging in the hand sink" and a "chemical spray bottle and two butane lighters" stored above and adjacent to food products. The report also said a "person in charge" was not present during the inspection.

A second follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days.
