In order to move forward with the George Rogers Avenue/Hospital Connector project, Duluth determined the old tannery building at 3723 Abbotts Bridge Road must be demolished.
The Duluth City Council approved a $24,375 contract Dec. 14 with low bidder TOA LLC for the demolition. The contract was approved with a 10 percent contingency.
The work is to be complete no later than Jan. 22, as agreed upon with GDOT. Any date later than that will cause the construction let date to be delayed, which could put the federal match for this project at risk.
