With dry weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday, motorists can expect road construction projects to block lanes on several metro Atlanta interstates this weekend.
Doug Turnbull in the AM750 and 95.5FM News/Talk WSB Traffic Center says that big delays are likely on I-285 northbound south of Chamblee Tucker Road, where the two left lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday though 5 a.m. Monday.
Also in DeKalb, crews will be blocking the left lane of the Spaghetti Junction ramp from I-85 southbound to I-285 westbound from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Another likely trouble spot is I-285 in both directions between Riverside Drive and Ga. 400, where the two left lanes will be blocked from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. on Saturday.
In Clayton County, lane closures could cause congestion on I-75 in both directions between Mt. Zion Road and Old Dixie Highway all weekend.
The weather forecast should be perfect for those road crews, with sunny skies forecast, along with highs in the 60s and lows around 40 degrees.
The main event in downtown Atlanta this weekend is the ACC basketball tournament, which continues through Sunday at Philips Arena.
