The North Georgia Health District announced six “Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinics,” the annual effort by county public health departments to bring quick and convenient flu vaccinations to the public.

The Cherokee County clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Woodstock City Church, 150 Ridgewalk Parkway. Those with questions can call 770-928-0133 or 770-345-7371.

Other drive-through clinics will be offered in Whitfield, Gilmer, Fannin, Pickens and Murray counties on various dates from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15. To download information and a list of sites: https://bit.ly/2krdcCs

The vaccine is for those at least 18 years old and at no cost to persons with one of several accepted health insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield and United Healthcare, officials said.

For those without insurance, the cost is $25 for a quadrivalent flu shot – a vaccine that protects against four different strains of flu – and $65 for a high-dose flu vaccine for persons 65 years of age and older, officials said.
