Smartphone owners have downloaded the new "Drive Sober GA" application nearly 1,000 times since it debuted on the Android market this week to help drunken motorists find a sober ride, the Governor's Office of Highway Safety announced Friday.

GOHS  compiled a list of free sober-ride programs statewide to be active by New Year's Eve. The new version should fix compatibility issues with older Android models and the  iPhone market also offers it. GOHS also recommends the application as a safety tool for party hosts and bartenders.
