The 25-year-old accused of killing two men in a parking lot earlier this month is now in the Fulton County jail after being caught in New Orleans, Atlanta police said Tuesday night.
Michael Freeman is accused of shooting three on June 5 in an apparent drug deal gone bad, according to police. Freeman then left Georgia for New Orleans, where he was arrested by New Orleans police and the FBI.
Dantavious Harold, 27, died at the scene of the shootings, and Sheldon Atchison, 22, was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died from injuries, said Officer K.Y. Jones with Atlanta police. Julious Robles, 21, was also shot but survived his injuries, Jones said.
The four people apparently had planned to meet at Piedmont Place, a special events facility located in the 1800 block of Piedmont Road, Major Keith Meadows previously told the AJC.
At some point, at least two dozen shots were fired from at least three weapons, Meadows said.
