Police say ‘speed a factor’ in double fatal crash in Brookhaven

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened just before 7 a.m. Sunday.

Five people were in a car that hit a tree on Clairmont Road and Century Center, Brookhaven police told Channel 2 Action News.

A man died on the scene, a woman died on the way to the hospital and three other people were critically injured, police said.

“Speed will be a factor in this accident,” Brookhaven police spokesman Major Brandon Gurley said.
