After a week of weather delays, overnight (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) road closures start Monday night on Ga. 400 as crews gather soil samples preparatory to the road-widening project set there.

Monday night the left lane and shoulder of Ga. 400 north will close at the Big Creek Bridge. The same closure shifts to the southbound side Tuesday night. After Wednesday night median work (no closures), Thursday night will see the left-lane and shoulder of 400 closed northbound at the Sawnee Creek Bridge the first part of the night. Crews will shift to the southbound side after midnight.

A more than 13-mile stretch of road is being widened to three lanes in each direction.

In addition, overnight work starts Monday night on resurfacing Ga. 369 (Matt Highway) from the Cherokee County line to Ga. 9 in Cumming. Crews will be working Sundays through Friday nights on the 10-mile stretch
