A refurbished car dealership has somehow managed to remain viable on Spring Street in Midtown as developers push each other out of the way to gobble up the valuable land in the area.

Well, there’s no secret to how that underused property has managed to survive — nude ladies and tippling men.

That spot is the Cheetah lounge, for decades a must-visit location for convention-goers and businessmen on the prowl. But a news report this week said developers are pushing hard to turn that property into a towering live/work/play structure, the likes of which are jutting up all over Midtown.

I called Bill Hagood, the owner of the Cheetah, who sees himself as the father of the art form in Atlanta, and asked him whether he is willing to sell. Find out his answer, only on myajc.com.
