DeKalb County fire investigators were working Sunday to find what triggered the early morning blaze that destroyed a Chamblee restaurant.

Channel 2 Action News reported that, around 4:30 a.m., a driver on I-285 spotted the smoke coming from The Bombay Grill and called 911. When firefighters arrived at the Savoy Drive eatery, they found flames already spreading throughout the building.

“We initially tried to go interior, but due to the the extent of the fire we were forced to back out,” DeKalb fire Capt. Halani Lobdell told Channel 2.

No one was at the restaurant when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported. Arson investigators were on scene Sunday moring to try and determine the cause of the fire.
