The Dekalb County Board of Commissioners are set to meet 10 a.m. Tuesday at the commission office, 1300 Commerce Drive in a regularly scheduled meeting. Among items on the agenda is voting among the commissioners for a presiding officer. And although the appointment of George Turner to the District 5 seat is also on the agenda, his confirmation has been on hold since last summer. It was then that Interim CEO Lee May nominated Turner to serve as a temporary county commissioner. Turner would fill May’s position while May fills in as county CEO.

Also according to the published agenda, several resolutions to be addressed: a resolution encouraging the creation of a charter review commission to review the Organizational Act and Form of Government for county; a resolution of the governing authority of Dekalb County to request the adoption of standards for the creation of cities and annexations; and a resolution requesting the Georgia General Assembly to respect the home rule authority of Dekalb County.
