DeKalb commissioner: report tax abuse
3After receiving several calls with questions and complaints, DeKalb County Commissioner Elaine Boyer said she is urging all residents to report abuse of the county’s homestead exemption.
The tax break is designed only for homeowners who are living in a property on Jan. 1 and using the home as their legal residence. It does not apply for rental property or vacant land.
