The playground at Brook Run Park will be closed temporarily for the installation of a new and improved safety surface beginning on Saturday, April 13, according to a press release.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” said Parks Director Brent Walker. “We wanted to complete this project while kids are still in school and before our summer events begin at the park.”
The original surface is more than 15 years old and is past its useful life. The spring weather is ideal for installing this kind of rubber safety surface, Walker said.
Playgrounds at Georgetown Park (4400 Dunwoody Park), Windwood Hollow Park (4865 Lakeside Drive) and the Dunwoody Nature Center (5343 Roberts Drive) are nearby alternatives.
The installation work is scheduled to be completed by May 2, just in time for the first Food Truck Thursday of 2019.
