A DeKalb County boy not even old enough to have a learner's permit crashed a car into the side of a home near Lithonia overnight, Channel 2 Action News reported.

According to the station, the 14-year-old driver had allegedly stolen his mother's car and had two friends riding with him when he ran off the road on Singer Way around 1 a.m.

When the car came to a stop, the front half of the vehicle was in the laundry room of a house. No injuries were reported.

A neighbor told Channel 2 that the crash "sounded like a big explosion. It was a solid boom."

The teen driver, whose name has not been released, was placed in the custody of juvenile authorities.
