City Schools Decatur Superintendent David Dude delayed the board vote on whether to execute a lease agreement with Atlanta Public Schools for use of the East Lake Elementary School.
Dude made his decision shortly before Tuesday’s board meeting.
“I want to firm up, or get a better idea on how we might best use the facility before we approve the lease,” he said. “I’ve been brainstorming ideas with my own team but I haven’t discussed them with the board yet.”
Dude also scratched two other items from the agenda involving pre construction and design for phase two of construction at Renfroe Middle and Decatur High Schools. He said he wasn’t yet ready to set a timetable for those two projects.
Dude said he would call a special work session for both construction plans and the East Lake lease either next week or shortly after the holiday break.
