A Decatur man arrested Wednesday and charged with rape may be connected to four more sexual assaults, DeKalb police said.
Garry W. Mincey, 35, is accused of raping a woman after following her home from a Publix grocery store on Flakes Mill Road on Tuesday, police said.
Investigators said Mincey is believed to have entered her home through the garage area while she unloaded her groceries. He allegedly sexually assaulted her before stealing some possessions, including a cellphone and laptop, and fleeing in a dark-colored SUV. The woman then contacted police.
Mincey was arrested the next day following a short chase after authorities investigating the case saw a suspicious vehicle near Flakes Mill Road, police said.
Detectives believe he may be linked to four other sexual assaults in the past two months, police said. The investigation is continuing.
Mincey is in the DeKalb County Jail charged with rape, armed robbery, burglary and false imprisonment.
