1 dead in wreck on I-285 in DeKalb

One person was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon in DeKalb County.

Northbound lanes of I-285 were temporarily closed near Glenwood Road when an SUV left the roadway and struck a tree, according to DeKalb County police.

The vehicle struck a tree before coming to a stop, police said. A male passenger died at the scene and a female driver was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The names of those involved in the wreck were not released.

Investigators were trying to determine if speed was a factor in the wreck.
