An inmate found dead in his cell at the Acworth Detention Center last week was identified Thursday as Douglas Jay Postell of Acworth.
Postell, 53, was in custody following a DUI arrest on Aug. 15, according to the Acworth Police Department. He hadn't posted bond and was still at the jail Friday when he was found dead in his cell at 7:30 a.m.
It appeared Postell died of natural causes in his sleep, authorities said. A detention officer found him lying on his cell bed and unresponsive. There were no signs of foul play, police said.
