DeKalb County police were trying to determine Tuesday if two overnight shootings and a stabbing that left one person dead and three others injured are related.

DeKalb police Capt. Stephen Fore said the chain of events began around 10:45 p.m. when a woman was cut in the face during an argument at the Affordable Hotel on Glenfair Road off I-285 near Glenwood Road.

About an hour later, a woman was found shot in the hand not far from there, near the intersection of Snapfinger Road and Columbia Drive.

About 12:25 a.m., two men were shot outside the Affordable Hotel, Fore said. One of the the men later died, and the other remained in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The wounded women were taken to Grady in stable condition.

Police were still working late Tuesday morning to identify the man killed and those injured, and to determine if the three incidents are related.

“It’s still a very active investigation,” Fore said.
