Buying winning Georgia lottery game tickets has become a hobby for one Dalton woman.

On Aug. 15, Wendy Owenby, 25, won a $128,483 jackpot prize from the Fantasy 5 drawing. This was the third time Owenby has come away a lottery winner.

The mother of two young children stopped for a soda and purchased a Quik Pik ticket at Knight’s BP on Red Bud Road in Calhoun.

“It’s crazy,” she said. “I don’t know what to think. I’m very lucky.”

Owenby won $10,000 in 2005 and $50,000 in 2006 from playing the Georgia Lottery’s instant games.

“With that, I paid off bills and bought items for my kids,” she said.

The lucky lottery winner, who works in a teen group home, intends to save her latest winnings.
